::  With so many nice and wonderful, workable trends happening this A/W’09, am sure many of you out there are hard pressed to make them work for you! So last Saturday at our store at Raffles City, us at River got esteemed and pixie-sized Fashion Editor of CLEO, Daphen Chen, to enlighten their readers and River Island fans Fall’s Top trends as well as how to pull that look together and getting key pieces, all without busting a hole in your wallet. It is November (gasp!) and there are Christmas parties to grace, soirées to attend, and dates to go on… too many reasons to dress up!

We love our fashion models but some have really unattainable statisitic! So instead, we got 4 cute talents (REAL PEOPLE!) to model our wares! And they looked absolutely gorgeous. What more, Karen and Erica from Maquillage, Shisedo were on hand to present to us the latest colours and make-uo trends for the season. They shared secrets on how to use make to highlight your eyes or cheeks as well as basics that every girl should know. Of course, CLEO readers didn’t go away empty handed! They received River Island shopping vouchers plus a special Shisedo goodie bag! I guess Christmas came rather early eh! ::

:: This just came into the store! How adorable! I think I might have to hide it from my little  sister. A sassy conversation starter for all the festive parties coming right up! $83 ::

:: CLEO turned 15 last Friday and as with all CLEO parties, it was a blast! It was an unforgettable night of fashion and music, where one of Singapore’s best live bands, Shirlyn & The UnXpected brought the house down! And we spied with out little beady eyes many a CLEO Bachelor in the crowd. Of course, River Island had a runway show, produced by the amazingly talented Rizal where he unleashed the inner rock star and groupies in the models.  All we can say is : HOT! ::

:: WOW! We love the show! Kudos to the team of Naima, Sabrina, Shu Ting, Derrick, Bryan, Jerome, Joshua and of course Daniel Boey for pull together such an amazing, stunning show! Not forgetting the make-up by Stage and hair by NEXT Salon!  And Sheila Sim, Singapore’s top model at the moment, opening and closing the show, and ANTM Cycle 10 Runner Up , Anya Rozova! Thank you guys! And oh….WE LOVE OUR STUFF! * If you didn’t know that already!*::

:: Its blazing hot today! Nary a cloud in the sky! Yet the crew and models still look fresh and dewy backstage. Already, the models are lining up to do their first few shows for the day. We are so glad that River’s show is the closing for STYLE WEEK’09. More pictures to come shortly! ::

::  So what goes on behind the scenes for a runway show like OURS? Besides the usual bevvy of models in various stages of undress (!!!), its the production team that really gets everything running smoothly. Too many outfits to fit and style,  so little time!  Lucky for us at River, we have Daniel Boey and his wonderful team working full steam on this Saturday’s runway show at ION Orchard! Here’s a sneak peek of what went on during the River Island fitting today! ::

:: For those who were at this year’s New Paper New Face Finals last week  will know that Victoria Bradbury is the winner of this year’s contest! The sassy 19 year old won both the title as well as a whopping $10,000 in cash. We at River Island heartily congratulate the gorgeous lass. And we are equally thrilled to see her strutting her stuff in our very own sexy sequined shorts at the finals!  Yes, we love our shorts on you, Victoria! ::
